Hi — I'm Aaron M. Smith, founder of Academics Made Simple (AMS) and a professional insurance analytics expert based in Myrtle Beach, SC. I work with numbers every single day — which means I can show students not just how math works, but why it matters in the real world.

I never just give students the answer. I guide them to discover it themselves — because that's what builds real confidence and long-term retention. How do virtual sessions work? +
Virtual sessions are held via Zoom with an interactive digital whiteboard. I upload SAT problems and worksheets directly to the screen, and students can write, draw, and annotate in real time — just like an in-person session. All you need is a computer, tablet, or phone.
What grades and levels do you tutor? +
I tutor high school students from grades 9–12, covering all levels up to AP for Math, Science, and History. For SAT/ACT prep I work with students at all starting score levels — whether aiming for 1000 or 1500+.
How quickly will my student see improvement? +
Most students report increased confidence and understanding after just 2–3 sessions. For SAT score improvement, meaningful gains typically appear within 4–6 weeks of consistent sessions. Every student is different, which is why we start with a diagnostic to set honest, realistic expectations.
Do you provide materials or should we bring them? +
I provide all materials — real College Board SAT practice problems, custom worksheets, and a personalized study plan. Students should have class notes and any specific assignments or tests they'd like to review. No need to buy anything extra.
What is your cancellation policy? +
I ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Life happens — I'm always flexible and happy to find a time that works. I never charge for first-time short-notice cancellations.
